IT Industry icon Azim Premji will retire as Executive Chairman of Wipro with effect from 30th July 2019. He led the company for 53 years will continue to serve on the board as Non-Executive Director and founder Chairman.
- India’s second richest business tycoon Azim Premji is set to retire in July 2019 as the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of India’s fourth-largest IT Company, Wipro.
- His sonRishad Premji, Chief Strategy Officer and a board member, will take over as the Executive Chairman of the company.
- The Premji family owns 74.3 percent of the shares in the company.
